H.I.P. Employee Since 2004
What I Do:
I process a high volume of invoices, and repair orders for manufacturers; and process and close out ACH and check payments. I research repairs and make sure they're approved through our Repair Specialist. I am the liaison for manufacturers payable issues and ensure problems are efficiently resolved. I also assist with creating and implementing policies and procedures that affect the manufacturers.
What About My Position Fulfills Me:
So many things. I like my responsibilities, their diversity. I enjoy doing a variety of things in my job. I feel like I’m contributing to the company. I have an impact on things around here and the way we work.
Why I think H.I.P. Is Unique:
I love the people, the positive attitude that everyone brings to their job. Everyone is always encouraging and supporting one another. If I have too much to do on my desk, someone else will take something on for me. And it’s not just my department. If I have a question about something in customer service, the coordinator will sit right down with me and help me talk through a problem.
What I Like About My Manager:
He is easy to work with. He trusts me and my opinion. He has a great attitude and focuses on what I and my team can do, not what we can’t.
My Favorite H.I.P. Story:
The stories that stick out are ones where we’re all laughing and having a good time together, but one in particular was important to the improvement of our procedures. A manufacturer couldn’t verify the receipt of an item and didn’t have a way to track the item that was returned to their plant. Within a few days we met internally to discuss how we could improve the process and drafted a new system that we sent to our manufacturers. We’re hoping to launch that new system very soon!
After Work I Can Be Found:
I’m a singer-songwriter of country music, so that’s what I am often up to after hours. Otherwise, I am hanging out with my dog, Jasmine, who is my side kick, and my friends and family.
Favorite Movie:
I’m a kid at heart, so it’s a tie between Monster’s Inc. and Finding Nemo.
Favorite Place To Visit:
Lake Winnipesauke . We’re the fifth generation in my family who stays up at our house there and I’ve been going since I was a kid.
Favorite Book:
Way of the Peaceful Warrior
The Coolest Thing I’ve Done:
I’ve always wanted to go to Nashville and I did this year. I loved it. I played with a band on Broadway and made $2!
